If you or someone you know is in crisis, there are several services available to provide urgent help and guidance:
Emergency Services – 999: If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 for urgent help.
NHS 111: Call 111 for fast medical advice when it's urgent but not a 999 emergency. This service is also helpful if you're unsure who to contact, don't have a GP, or need health-related information and guidance.
Sussex Mental Health crisis line: A helpline staffed by trained mental health professionals, offering support for anyone in Sussex with mental health concerns. Call NHS 111 and select the mental health option. Open 24/7.
Mental Health Rapid Response Service (MHRRS): This local service provides quick assessments for adults (18+) experiencing mental health difficulties and feeling unsafe. Call on 0300 304 0078. Available: Mon-Fri 8am-10pm. Weekends and bank holidays 10am-10pm.
The Samaritans: A national service offering confidential support to anyone in distress. Free to call, 24/7, on 116 123.
